Birdies for Kids 2016
The Shaw Charity Classic’s Birdies For Kids is a family event which aims to support local charities by raising money. The event takes place August 31 – September 4, 2016 at the Canyon Meadows Gold & Country Club in Calgary, Alberta. Charities which participate receive 100% of every donation. Last year, there were 89 participating charities and 995 donors, raising an astounding $2.3 million.
How it works
Donors can either make a one-time flat donation or a pledge for each birdie made by Champions Tour players during the 2016 Shaw Charity Classic. Donations can be made up until Sunday Sept. 4 at midnight.
How many birdies
In 2014, there were 1,000 birdies at the Shaw Charity Classic, and in 2015 there were 858. We estimate 875 birdies will be made during the 2016 Shaw Charity Classic.
Every dollar donated to the MitoCanada Foundation will be matched up to 50%.
